Body and Sound- Music and Dance Improvisation Workshop with Vintani Nafassi and Manuela Tessi
Saturday 24 October, 15:00–18:00 @Studio Bodlabot, OT301 — Overtoom 301 1054HW, Amsterdam
Led by Manuela and Vintani, this workshop is for movers and sound makers alike. Together we'll develop the musicality of movement and a deeper sensitivity to sound. Participants will explore the relationship between movement and the sonic dimension: phrasing, space, rhythm, counterpoint, tension, and the quality of movement or sound, with particular attention to the expressive power of pauses as moments of listening, suspension, and transformation. Does sound lead, or does movement? And how do the two shape one another?
Throughout the session, participants will explore how movement can enter into dialogue with sound, building precision, listening, and awareness within their own practice. This workshop aims at opening a space for research and reflection on the musicality of movement. The leading artists will share tools drawn from their own journey and movement and sound artists, and from practices they have been developing together in their long-lasting artistic collaboration.
Open to anyone curious about the relationship between movement and sound
