Highs & Lows

Highs & Lows is an evening of performances in OT301, Amsterdam. The night, produced and curated by 4bid, focuses on research in performance, contemporary dance and live art. The idea behind H&L is to give a platform to show work that is experimental, daring, unfunded, collaborative, result of research or work in progress.

Performances details can be found on facebook under the voice Highs & Lows.
Tickets charge goes to the artist.

Lisa Hofmann
"This is not a drama, or: I was thinking about leaving“ (working title)

--This is not a drama, or: I was thinking about leaving“ - an almost grotesque symphony of expressions, is the current work in progress at the intersection between dance and theatre and a first result of a process of (re)searching a methodology of intuition as the seed of my artistic creations.

Polina Fenko
(Sans) Ordre. Performance-lecture.

Through centuries both war and dance were busy with notating movement. Through scores they did not only transcribed in specificity collective and personal movements and gestures, but also rehearsed and re-enacted  these scores. How can these comparisons challenge our preconceptions and invite us to reflect on the intersections of discipline and creativity, regimentation and freedom?

(Because the conversation is not over)

Water holds and hosts so much.
Remembers. Forges. Forgives. Evaporates.
Are we just containers? Trajectories for passing movement, liquid, chemical fancy?
Lately I’m interested in the communication with and the collaboration with some of those, dear to me, who have passed or who are in the process of this. They live in my body. They have shown me ways to pop in and then out of what we call existence.
Such collaboration is ripe for the uknowing and unknown and knowing things that cannot be, but are, or hearing echoes from other voices in my cracks. These people are transformers. Their echoes in the gurgling of a gut, a screech, the break of a smile. A spilling of laughter, a spilling of time.

Gem'n'eye

gem'n'eye explore what happens within and between bodies using analogue tools of the imagination and the voice, and digital tools of microphones, speakers and various soft and hardware devices. Gem'n'eye stretch the concept of the technological body and create distorted rumblings, extreme frequencies, and droning silences, looking for an (in)dependent co-existence and the necessary dialogue between the audible and the visible, the seen, the heard and the felt.
