Line up: Milio van de Kamp, New student movement Amsterdam
Open: 17:00 - 19:30 hrs
Tickets: € 0
On Friday the 26th of May we will do another talkshow in the Ventilator-bar on the 2nd floor of the OT301. This Friday we will start at 5 in the afternoon with a talk with Milio van de Kamp about his book Perhaps you have to aim a little lower (Misschien moet je iets lager mikken). In this book he tells about his experience with growing up in poverty and about the difficulties people from 'the lower classes' have to overcome when they want to climb the social ladder, even in a supposedly 'equal' society as thd Dutch one.
At 6 we will have a talk with several members of the new student movement in Amsterdam, who were brutally evicted by the police when they occupied an (empty) university building a few months ago. They will share their experiences with police violence and tell about their struggle to Decarbonize, Decolonize and Democratize the University.
Free entrance, but be in time, as we will close the door after five and only open it shortly again before six.
