with Irina Baldini, MA performance practices
For professional dance artists, visual/performance artists, filmmakers and all artists who make work.
Irina has been a freelance dancer, and maker across different mediums since 2010. Since 2013 she has been teaching and from 2016 choreographing on her own crew, taking the work to international festivals such as Venice Biennale, Florence Dance Festival and verious Fringe Festivals.
She is co-founder of 4bid gallery and has been active in the programming, teaching and curation of the project for 8 years. She earned an MA at ArtEZ University of the Arts (Arnhem), where she is freelance production manager at the department Home of Performance Practices. Her books “Low Content”, “Kelder” and her thesis “Between a kick and a cuddle” were published in 2018, 2020 and 2021.
The ATE fluid methodology, which she shares in these sessions, is developed through her research revolving around the embodiment of tasks leading up to psycho-physical states of doubt and confusion. The ATE (acronym for Accountable Temporary Expedients, tasks constituting the methodology) is a generative tool within the composition process. Its practice is an opportunity for the participants to experience and share the explorations of the tasks in real time. The sessions lead to engaging in an ongoing dialogue between movement, thought, speech, taking decisions and responding or provoking others.
